Regular Season Round 37: Chiba J. - Nagoya DD 87-83

Rather predictable result when third ranked Chiba J. (26-11) beat at home 5th ranked Diamond Dolphins (15-22) 87-83 on Sunday. Chiba J. made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American center Jamel McLean (202-88, college: Xavier) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) added 13 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Five Chiba J. and four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Chiba J. maintains third place with 26-11 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi B. which they share with defeated Diamond Dolphins. Loser Diamond Dolphins dropped to the third position with 22 games lost. Chiba J. will face league's second-placed Osaka E. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Diamond Dolphins will play against San-en NeoPhoenix in Hamamatsu and hope to win that game.
