Very important is a road loss of third ranked Leyma Basquet (15-7) against thirteenth ranked Castello (9-13) on Friday night. Visiting Leyma Basquet was defeated by Castello in Castellon 83-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Leyma Basquet. Castello looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Dutch forward Joey van-Zegeren (208-90, college: Northwestern) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Serbian Brano Djukanovic (194-95) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. DR Congolese-Canadian guard Mathieu Kamba (196-95, college: Cent Arkansas, agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced 19 points and British forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: Loyola Mary) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Castello moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Leyma Basquet keeps the third position with seven games lost. Castello will meet Oviedo CB (#16) on the road in the next round. Leyma Basquet will play against Marin (#18) and hope to secure a win.
