The game between closely ranked teams ended with Komf. Brno's (8-12) home victory over Kondori Lib. (6-14) 107-85 on Friday. Komf. Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Kondori Lib.'s 50. Kondori Lib. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Zdenek Sebela (192-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Marek Soucek (213-90, college: Oklahoma St.) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman David Zikla (203-98) replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Maurice Taylor (198-94, college: Niagara) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kondori Lib.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Komf. Brno will face Sokol Vyseh. (#19) in Vysehrad in the next round where they are favorite. Kondori Lib. will play at home against Novy Jicin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
