ASEAN League

Regular Season Round 13: Singapore S. - WM Dragons 68-79

Date: February 14, 2020
The most shocking disappointment of round 13 in the ASEAN League was a home defeat of 6th ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (6-7) to seventh ranked Malaysian WM Dragons (7-6) 79-68. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when WM Dragons made 8 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and swingman Cade Davis (197-88, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Anthony McClain (211-88, college: Cincinnati) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. Singapore Slingers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. WM Dragons have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Singapore Slingers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. WM Dragons are looking forward to face league's second-placed Alab Pilipinas in Manila in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Singapore Slingers will play on the road against the league's leader Mono Vampire (#1) in Bangkok and are hoping to win this game.
