Regular Season Round 38: Yokohama BC - Hitachi SRT 101-90

Date: February 15, 2020
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (25-13) lost on the road to fifth ranked Yokohama BC (10-28) 101-90 on Saturday. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Turkish center Reginald Becton (206-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). American forward James Southerland (203-90, college: Syracuse) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Five Yokohama BC and four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yokohama BC maintains fifth position with 10-28 record. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers still keep top place with 13 games lost. Yokohama BC will face again higher ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) in Tokyo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
