Very important is a road loss of third ranked STB Le Havre (17-8) against thirteenth ranked Lorient (8-17) on Saturday night. Visiting STB Le Havre was defeated by Lorient in a tough game in Lorient 79-85. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 65.2 percentage. STB Le Havre was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (179-87) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) chipped in 21 points. At the losing side American forward Jerrell Wright (204-91, college: La Salle) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Hugo Suhard (184-92) scored 14 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lorient moved-up to eleventh place in Group A, which they share with Stade Rochelais and Lourdes. STB Le Havre at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Boulogne. Lorient will play against Vanves (#14) on the road in the next round. STB Le Havre will play against Vendee Challans (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
