Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Gran Canaria 2 (11-11) edged 10th ranked Villarrobledo (7-15) in Las Palmas 82-80 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gran Canaria 2 had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Polish center Aleksander Balcerowski (217-0, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Montenegrin swingman Jovan Kljajic (198-1) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Gran Canaria 2 players scored in double figures. American forward Vadal Faniel (201-92, college: Texas A&M Int.) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard DeAngelo Hailey (190-90, college: NW Missouri St.) added 15 points in the effort for Villarrobledo. Villarrobledo's coach Manuel Jimenez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gran Canaria 2 moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Loser Villarrobledo keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost.
