Regular Season Round 28: Lutsk Univ. - Rivne 89-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Lutsk between second ranked Rivne (18-6) and fifth ranked Lutsk Univ. (13-9) on Sunday night. Rivne was defeated by Lutsk Univ. on the road 89-71. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-71. Lutsk Univ. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Dmitry Shvahrynskyy (197-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and guard Yuriy Kramar (191-95) who added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Lutsk Univ. players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Vasil Fedorchuk (200-96) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (199-88) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lutsk Univ. maintains fifth position with 13-9 record. Rivne at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Lutsk Univ. are looking forward to face Politekhn.Lvov (#9) in Lviv in the next round. Rivne will play at home against Khimik-2 (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
