It was a great evening for Lithuanian power forward Gintare Petronyte (197-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Latvian center Anete Steinberga (190-90, college: UTEP, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Venezia's coach Giampiero Ticchi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Dearica Hamby (191-93, college: Wake Forest, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and Romanian-American power forward Ashley Walker (187-87, college: California) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Venezia have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-3 record behind leader Schio. Ragusa at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Venezia are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Battipaglia (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ragusa will play against Vigarano (#8) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
