Regular Season Round 14: WM Dragons - Alab Pilipinas 92-80

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (9-6) against fifth ranked Malaysian WM Dragons (8-6) on Wednesday night. Visiting Alab Pilipinas were defeated by WM Dragons in Kuala Lumpur 92-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Alab Pilipinas. It was a great shooting night for WM Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American swingman Cade Davis (197-88, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 assists. The other American import power forward Will Artino (211-92, college: Creighton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four WM Dragons players scored in double figures. American forward Nick King (201-95, college: MTSU) replied with 28 points and 6 rebounds and guard Jordan Heading (188-96, college: CBU) added 26 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Alab Pilipinas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WM Dragons have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Formosa D. Defending Filipino champion Alab Pilipinas keep the second position with six games lost. WM Dragons will play against Singapore Slingers (#7) on the road in the next round. Alab Pilipinas will play against Saigon Heat (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
