Regular Season Round 5: Plaza - CPN 97-114

An interesting game for CPN (5-2) which played against 3rd placed Plaza (4-4). First ranked CPN had an easy win 114-97. CPN forced 19 Plaza turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Branden Dawson (198-93, college: Michigan St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Oliver Garcia (188-96) added 25 points, 5 assists and 6 steals in the effort for Plaza. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CPN maintains first place with 5-2 record, which they share with GUG. Plaza at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. CPN is looking forward to face league's second-placed GUG in Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Plaza's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Cupes.
