Regular Season Round 115: Toronto R. - Phoenix Suns 118-101
Date: February 21, 2020
Not a big story in a game in Toronto where 3rd placed Suns (22-34) were defeated by first ranked Raptors (41-15) 118-101 on Friday. Raptors made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Raptors outrebounded Suns 48-34 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Raptors made 13 blocks. It was a great evening for Cameroonian forward Pascal Siakam (206-94, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Point guard Kyle Lowry (183-86, college: Villanova) helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. At the losing side Devin Booker (198-96, college: Kentucky) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and Bahamas center DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college: Arizona) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Five Raptors and four Suns players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 41-15 record. Loser Suns dropped to the fourth position with 34 games lost. Raptors will have a break next day. Suns will play on the road against Bulls (#3) in Chicago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
