An exciting game was when First ranked CPN faced 4th placed Cupes. CPN (7-3) defeated Cupes (4-6) 99-94. CPN dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Cupes' 36. They outrebounded Cupes 46-30 including 20 on the offensive glass. CPN looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when CPN made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for American Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St.) helped adding 23 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks. Five CPN players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Juan Miguel Suero (198-93) responded with 24 points, 8 assists and 6 steals and American guard Kylon Higgins (190-93, college: Arkansas Tech) scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Cupes' coach Victor Ortega tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. CPN maintains first place with 7-3 record. Loser Cupes dropped to the fifth position with six games lost.
