Regular Season Round 10: Liepaja - TalTech 62-56

We should mention about the upset which took place in Liepaja, where higher ranked Estonian TalTech (8-5) lost to eleventh ranked Latvian Liepaja (4-9) in a road game 56-62 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of TalTech. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. They outrebounded TalTech 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Estonian forward Peteris Salmins (203-1) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Aleksis Jurevicus (-4) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Georg Allemann (200-1) produced 19 points and point guard Janar Aniste (170-0) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Liepaja maintains eleventh position with 4-9 record. Loser TalTech keeps the sixth place with five games lost. Liepaja will face higher ranked Keila KK (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
