An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 4th ranked Quintanar in a game versus Azuqueca (#7) 66-59. Azuqueca outrebounded Quintanar 42-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Venezuelan power forward Luis Valera (202-88, college: UTRGV) notched 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Carlos Hidalgo (183-97) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Azuqueca players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by guard Carlos Gil (185-93) did not help to save the game for Quintanar. Guard Jose Carrasco (186-94) added 15 points for lost side. Azuqueca (12-10) moved-up to sixth place in Group B. Quintanar lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Azuqueca will meet CB Guadalajara (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Quintanar will play against Zentro Basket (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
