Quarter-Finals Round 1: CD Puerto Varas - CD Castro 75-70

CD Puerto Varas brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Nigerian-American George Williams (198-90, college: Wayland Baptist) fired 31 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners. American forward Deangelo Kirkland (203-89, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four CD Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. American forward Mike Poole (196-92, college: Iona) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian guard Esteban Cantarutti (185-88) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. CD Castro's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
