Regular Season Round 22: La Fecha - Pas Pielagos 87-84

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Pas Pielagos (15-5) in Arroyo Encomienda on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked La Fecha (11-10) 87-84. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Pas Pielagos. La Fecha made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Pas Pielagos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jorge Martinez (185-96) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists. Guard Millan Lopez (185-94) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. La Fecha's coach Roberto Gonzalez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Canadian-British forward Denzel James (191-94, college: MacEwan) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alberto Garcia (196-99) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Pas Pielagos. Five La Fecha and four Pas Pielagos players scored in double figures. La Fecha moved-up to sixth place in Group A-A, which they share with Nissan Burgos. Pas Pielagos at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Mondragon. La Fecha will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pas Pielagos will play at home against Arha Hoteles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
