An interesting game took place in Hagen where higher ranked Phoenix Hagen (11-13) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Lions (8-17) 85-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Phoenix Hagen. Lions brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. His fellow American import guard Marcus Stroman (188-96, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Stroman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Jonathan Octeus (193-91, college: Purdue) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Dominik Spohr (198-89) added 20 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Phoenix Hagen. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lions maintains fifteenth place with 8-17 record. Phoenix Hagen at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Lions' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
