Second Stage Round 4: Prostejov - Sokol Pisek 84-81

The most exciting game of round 4 in the 1Liga took place in Prostejov. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Sokol Pisek (17-5) to sixth ranked Prostejov (12-9) 84-81 on Sunday evening. Prostejov dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sokol Pisek's 34. Prostejov forced 23 Sokol Pisek turnovers. Center Viktor Vasat (207-97) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Richard Balint (184-2) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Prostejov's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Pavel Englicky (208-83, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prostejov maintains sixth position in Places 1-6 with 12-9 record. Sokol Pisek at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Prostejov are looking forward to face league's leader J.Hradec on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sokol Pisek will play against Olomouc Bbal and is hoping to win this game.
