The most crucial game of the last day was another loss of Raptors (42-18) in Denver on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Nuggets (42-18) 133-118. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Nuggets looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 24 passes made by Raptors' players. 24 personal fouls committed by Raptors helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) fired a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Canadian swingman Jamal Murray (198-97, college: Kentucky) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists. British forward OG Anunoby (201-97, college: Indiana) produced 32 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Kyle Lowry (183-86, college: Villanova) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for lost side. Five Nuggets and four Raptors players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nuggets maintains first position with 42-18 record which they share with defeated Raptors. Raptors lost third consecutive game.
