There was no surprise in Coruna where 18th ranked Marin (3-19) was defeated by third ranked Leyma Basquet (15-7) 68-60. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Perris Blackwell (205-91, college: Washington, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian guard Filip Djuran (195-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. British-Irish forward Taiwo Badmus (203-93, college: Virginia-Wise) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Jacobo Diaz (206-96, college: Indiana, PA) added 10 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Marin in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leyma Basquet have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-7 record having four points less than leader Valladolid. Newly promoted Marin stay dead last with 19 lost games. Leyma Basquet's next round opponent will be Oviedo CB (#16) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Marin will play against Real Canoe in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
