Regular Season Round 16: Mykolaiv - Prometey 84-83

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Superleague took place in Mykolaiv. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Prometey (16-8) to eighth ranked Mykolaiv (8-18) 84-83 on Thursday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Prometey was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard QJ Peterson (183-94, college: VMI) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists and swingman Sergii Pryimak (204-96) who added 18 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St., agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mykolaiv and five Prometey players scored in double figures. Mykolaiv maintains eighth position with 8-18 record. Newly promoted Prometey dropped to the third place with eight games lost. Mykolaiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Prometey will play at home against the league's leader Dnipro having rather not much hope for a victory.
