Regular Season Round 21: Huima - Raholan Pyrkiva 85-62

The game between third ranked Raholan Pyrkiva (14-7) and fourth ranked Huima (13-7) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Raholan Pyrkiva was crushed by Huima in Aanekoski 85-62. The game was mostly controlled by Huima. Raholan Pyrkiva managed to win fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Huima dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Raholan Pyrkiva's 28. Huima forced 20 Raholan Pyrkiva turnovers. Guard Kalle Koivunen (187-2) stepped up and scored 28 points and 4 steals for the winners and American power forward Trenton Clayton (206-96, college: Pittsburg St.) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Huima players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Jesse Niemi (194-90) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Lauri Tiainen (193-90) scored 12 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Huima maintains fourth place in 1st Division with 13-7 record. Raholan Pyrkiva at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Huima are looking forward to face league's leader Tapiolan Honka on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Raholan Pyrkiva will play against Westside ET and is hoping to win this game.
