Second Stage Round 10: Gargzdu - Palanga 97-102

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Gargzdu (18-19) lost to eleventh ranked Palanga (17-20) in Gargzdai 97-102. Palanga players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American point guard Quincy Taylor (183-91, college: Longwood) scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Laurynas Lucinskas (201-93) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ernestas Jonkus (187-99) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Palanga maintains eleventh position with 17-20 record. Gargzdu at the other side keeps the ninth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Ereliai Mazeikiai. Palanga will play against bottom-ranked Taurages (#15) on the road in the next round. Gargzdu will play against Silales Lusis (#14) in Rietavas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
