Regular Season Round 23: Idstein - Kronberg 80-87

There was an upset when 4th placed Idstein (12-11) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Kronberg (8-15) 87-80 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American point guard Kewan Beebe (183-93, college: Geneseo St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Tim Steiner (186-92) helped adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. Four Kronberg players scored in double figures. American guard Julian DeBose (193-92, college: FGCU) responded with 17 points and Czech Jan Dolejsi (187-92) scored 17 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Kronberg maintains thirteenth place in South-West with 8-15 record. Newly promoted Idstein keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Kronberg will face higher ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Idstein will play against the league's second-placed Koblenz (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
