Regular Season Round 19: Eskilstuna - Talje 87-81

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Talje Knights (11-5) against seventh ranked Eskilstuna (8-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Talje Knights were defeated by Eskilstuna in a tough game in Eskilstuna 81-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Talje Knights won third quarter 26-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Talje Knights 55-38 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Pontus Lennartsson (198-93) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 21 rebounds for the winners. Spanish guard Julian Lopez (187-94) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Clinton Nwajei produced 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Adam Karahmetovic (190-98) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Talje Knights' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Eskilstuna moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Hammarby and Hogland. Newly promoted Talje Knights keep the third position with five games lost. They share it with Haga BG. Eskilstuna will meet at home league's leader RIG Mark in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Talje Knights will play against Haga BG and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
