Regular Season Round 22: Gent Hawks - Lommel 95-80

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Lommel (10-11) was defeated on the road by second ranked Gent Hawks (16-6) 95-80 on Saturday. Gent Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized French swingman Anthony Chada (196-89, agency: HMS) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Gregory De-Pooter (197-84) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side center Toon Ceyssens (205-97) responded with 27 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Bram Schelkens (182-98) scored 23 points. Lommel's coach tested ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gent Hawks maintains second position with 16-6 record having three points less than leader Ieper. Loser Lommel dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with LDP Donza. Gent Hawks will meet Gembo BBC (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lommel will play against Melsele (#5) and hope to secure a win.
