Regular Season Round 16: Cactus Tbilisi - TSU 81-73

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Cactus Tbilisi (#8) and TSU (#2). Cactus Tbilisi (7-8) won against visiting TSU (9-6) 81-73. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TSU won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely TSU outrebounded Cactus Tbilisi 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Davis (193-96, college: Queens, NC) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. The other American import forward Justin Everett (206-96, college: Humboldt St.) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International guard Sandro Sanadze (190-95) replied with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for TSU. Four TSU players scored in double figures. Cactus Tbilisi moved-up to seventh place. TSU lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Kutaisi and Vera. Cactus Tbilisi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Olimpi.
