Eighth-ranked Gran Canaria 2 (11-14) was very close to win a game against UBU Tizona (16-9) in Burgos. UBU Tizona managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (210-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Alberto Ruiz-de-Galarreta (198-83) helped adding 20 points. Four UBU Tizona players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Ruben Lopez (205-2) with 29 points and 5 rebounds and Finnish guard Edon Maxhuni (188-98, college: LBSU) scored 24 points and 6 assists. Gran Canaria 2's coach Salvador Camps rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UBU Tizona will play against CB Prat (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gran Canaria 2 will play against Estela (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
