Regular Season Round 16: BC Titebi - Dinamo Tbilisi 66-73
Date: March 8, 2020
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#6) and BC Titebi (#9). BC Titebi was defeated at home 66-73 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It looked good early as BC Titebi took a 17-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dinamo Tbilisi took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Titebi to just 7 points in third quarter. Dinamo Tbilisi brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by American guard Tyler Williams (196-96, college: San Diego) who scored that evening 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Luka Bulashvili (192-98) supported him with 15 points and 6 assists. Dinamo Tbilisi's coach Muhammed Muya Tachi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by American point guard Corey Spence (175-92, college: N.Colorado) did not help to save the game for BC Titebi. His fellow American import guard Luke Moyer (185-93, college: John Brown, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points for lost side. Dinamo Tbilisi (8-6) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Olimpi. BC Titebi lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's next round opponent will be Rustavi (#8) at home. BC Titebi will play against the league's leader Batumi and hope to win that game.
