Second Stage Round 4: Plaza - CPN 100-111

An interesting game for CPN (3-1) which played against 4th ranked Plaza (1-3). First ranked CPN managed to get a 11-point victory 111-100. CPN made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. CPN outrebounded Plaza 47-35 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Plaza's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Cameron Lard (206-97, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) who added 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Spanish forward Edward Santana (203-80) responded with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and guard Oliver Garcia (188-96) scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 steals (made all of his eight free throws). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CPN maintains first position with 3-1 record, which they share with GUG. Plaza at the other side stay at the bottom place with three games lost. They share the position with CDP. CPN will play against CDP (#3) in Santiago in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Plaza's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena GUG.
