Regular Season Round 36: Unics-2 - Avtodor-2 70-71

Eighth-ranked Unics-2 (19-23) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Avtodor-2 (24-18) in Kazan on Thursday. The visitors from Saratov managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 25-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Unics-2 outrebounded Avtodor-2 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of center Nikolay Mukha (211-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and guard Vadim Kharisov (191-0) who added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Semen Pinaev (208-99) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Avtodor-2 went down to fifth position due to points difference. Unics-2 lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 23 games lost. Avtodor-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Unics-2 will play again at home against Avtodor-2 (#5) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
