Second Stage Round 10: Russia 2004 - Runa 68-51

The most interesting game of round 10 was a derby match between two teams from Russia. The game took place in Moscow where twentieth ranked Russia 2004 won against visiting Runa (3-9) 68-51. The game was mostly controlled by Russia 2004. Runa managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Runa 42-29 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Russia 2004 looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Runa's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Russia 2004 made 13 blocks. Artem Antipov (-4) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Vladislav Samukhin (-4) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Russia 2004's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vladislav Karasev (-4) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds and Nikolai Slutskii (-3) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Russia 2004 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixteenth place. Runa lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twenty sixth position with nine games lost. Russia 2004's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Moscow to the arena CSKA.
