Al Shamal have been crowned D1 champions. They overcame Al Gharafa to conquer the trophy. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 32-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Al Shamal outrebounded Al Gharafa 46-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (195-84, college: CSUN) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Emir Mujkic (210-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds.
