Regular Season Round 41: Niigata A. - Ryukyu GK 69-83

An interesting game for Ryukyu GK (27-14) which played road game in Niigata against 4th placed Niigata A. (13-28). First ranked Ryukyu GK managed to get a 14-point victory 83-69. Ryukyu GK dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata A.'s 30 and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Niigata A. 41-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 21 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Narito Namizato (172-89) accounted for 12 points and 12 assists. American forward Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) came up with 22 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Niigata A. in the defeat. Niigata A.'s coach Kazuhiro Shoji rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK maintains first place with 27-14 record, which they share with Hitachi SRT. Niigata A. lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 28 games lost. Ryukyu GK will meet at home Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) in the next round. Niigata A. will play against Toyama G. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
