Second Stage Round 3: Tenerife - RETAbet BB 70-78

We should not miss the game where RETAbet BB (#5) against CB Canarias (0-3) where RETAbet BB won by eight points 78-70. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15. But CB Canarias won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. RETAbet BB dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to CB Canarias' 32. They outrebounded CB Canarias 39-20 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. RETAbet BB players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian-Finnish power forward Emir Sulejmanovic (204-95) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. French point guard Jonathan Rousselle (188-90) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American guard Nick Zeisloft (193-92, college: Indiana) came up with 22 points and Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) added 13 points respectively for CB Canarias in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. RETAbet BB's next round opponent will be FC Barcelona at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CB Canarias will play against Joventut (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
