Pioneers were outscored by the opponent from Sichuan 101-72. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pioneers' 26. They outrebounded Pioneers 52-30 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Blue Whales players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Pioneers were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for forward Chen Chen (197-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Tianyi Hou (203-97) accounted for 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Guard Deshaui Shi (192-92) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Liu Shuai (196-95) added 17 points respectively for Pioneers in the defeat. Pioneers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
