Second Stage Round 3: Real Madrid - Valencia 95-90

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Liga Endesa took place in Madrid where host Real Madrid (2-1) beat Valencia Basket (2-1) 95-90 on Monday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-21. But Valencia Basket won second period 31-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 assists. Argentinian Gabriel Deck (198-95) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis, agency: Inception Sports) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Alberto Abalde (202-95) added 17 points respectively. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Valencia Basket will play next round against strong Burgos trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Real Madrid will try to continue on its current victory against Andorra on the road.
