No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Hapoel Eilat (11-13) defeated at home bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (4-20) 93-87. They outrebounded Maccabi Ashdod 43-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hapoel Eilat players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Devon Scott (206-94, college: Philander Smith) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Milton Doyle (193-93, college: Loyola, IL) supported him with 26 points and 4 assists. Hapoel Eilat's coach Eric Elfassi used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 assists by American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Ashdod. American forward Zac Cuthbertson (201-96, college: Coastal) added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Galil Gilboa. Maccabi Ashdod lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games.
