Very expected game when 12th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (4-22) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Galil Gilboa (13-13) 92-81. Galil Gilboa dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Ashdod's 30 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American guard Joe Thomasson (193-93, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 4 assists. The other American import forward Michael Young (206-94, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 18 points for the winners.
