Hapoel Jerusalem opened their playoff campaign on a confident note. They stormed past Nes-Ziona in Game 1. Hapoel Jerusalem outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 43-30 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ironi Nes-Ziona's players. Nigerian power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice, agency: 3Eye) stepped up and scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and international Nimrod Levi (208-95) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach Oded Kattash felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Cameron Oliver (203-96, college: Nevada) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
