Rishon fired past Maccabi Haifa in the opener. Rishon outrebounded Maccabi Haifa 42-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Guard DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's, agency: 3Eye) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: GMU) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Reggie Upshaw (203-95, college: MTSU) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Haifa's coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
