Very predictable result when Hawks (2-0) won against Giants (0-2) in Floreat 71-65 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hawks forced 23 Giants turnovers. The former international forward Ben Purser (200-90, college: Augusta) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Robert Cassir (195-91) contributed with 8 points and 6 assists for the winners. Hawks' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Jerome Reid (195-96) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Manylok Malek (205-94) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Giants. Hawks will face Redbacks (#7) in Northbridge in the next round where they are favorite. Giants will play at home against Suns (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
