Regular Season Round 136: Dallas M. - Houston R. 149-153

An interesting game for Rockets (41-24) which played road game in Dallas against their biggest opponent Mavericks (40-28). First ranked Rockets managed to get a 4-point victory 153-149. Rockets made 30-of-39 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Mavericks turnovers. Strangely Mavericks outrebounded Rockets 55-43 including 42 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rockets made 10 blocks. Mavericks were plagued by 36 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for James Harden (196-89, college: ASU) who helped to win the game recording 49 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Russell Westbrook (190-88, college: UCLA) contributed with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (221-95) replied with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) added 28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Mavericks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mavericks' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rockets maintains first position with 41-24 record, which they share with Miami Heat and Utah Jazz. Loser Mavericks keep the second place with 28 games lost.
