Regular Season Round 3: Willetton T. - Mandurah M. 80-72

Very expected game in Willetton where Magic (1-3) was defeated by Tigers (2-1) 80-72 on Friday. Tigers forced 20 Magic turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for naturalized British forward Lewis Thomas (203-92, college: WOU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Damien Scott (192-92) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Tom Atkinson (198-98) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Josh Hunt (179) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tigers will face Hawks (#4) in Floreat in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Magic will play on the road against Hawks (#4) in Floreat and hope to win that game.
