The most crucial game of the last day was a loss of Bucks (54-13) in Houston on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Rockets (42-24) 120-116. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Rockets made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Bucks turnovers. Strangely Bucks outrebounded Rockets 65-36 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Russell Westbrook (190-88, college: UCLA) who scored 31 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. James Harden (196-89, college: ASU) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Five Rockets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Greek-Nigerian swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo (211-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Khris Middleton (203-91, college: Texas A&M) added 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Bucks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Rockets have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 42-24 record, which they share with Miami Heat. Bucks at the other side still keep top place with 13 games lost.
