Regular Season Round 7: SW Metro P. - USC Rip 77-69

There was a small surprise in Runcorn where seventh ranked South West Metro Pirates (2-4) beat their close opponent Rip City (2-3) 77-69 on Saturday. The former international guard Tanner Krebs (198-96, college: St.Mary's, CA) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Greek guard Jonathon Mines (193-91, college: NMHU) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four South West Metro Pirates players scored in double figures. Guard Louis Ilton (191, college: TAMIU) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Dane Glover added 12 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory South West Metro Pirates went down to ninth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Rip City keeps the seventh place with three games lost. South West Metro Pirates will face higher ranked Rollers (#8) in Gold Coast in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
