Regular Season Round 7: Rockingham CF - Joondalup W. 83-75

Round in State League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Rockingham where host Flames (6-1) beat league's leader Wanneroo (6-1) 83-75 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in League. Flames forced 21 Wanneroo turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Wanneroo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Christina Boag (188-91) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Tayah Burrows (179-1) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Kayla Steindl (187-89, college: Gonzaga) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Chelsea Belcher (173-98) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Wanneroo's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Flames keep a position of League leader. Wanneroo will play next round against Eagles trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Flames will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Suns in Kalamunda.
