Regular Season Round 10: SD Spartans - Toowoomba M. 127-74

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Toowoomba Mountaineers (3-6) were rolled over on the road by fourth ranked Brisbane Spartans (6-2) 127-74 on Saturday. Brisbane Spartans dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Toowoomba Mountaineers' 34. Brisbane Spartans forced 21 Toowoomba Mountaineers turnovers and outrebounded them 55-25 including a 35-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brisbane Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Toowoomba Mountaineers' players. Power forward Callum Dalton (207-0) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winners. New Zealand center Tyrell Harrison (213-99) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Jakobe Hunter produced 28 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Joseph Johnson added 14 points respectively for lost side. Five Brisbane Spartans and four Toowoomba Mountaineers players scored in double figures. Brisbane Spartans moved-up to third place in League. Loser Toowoomba Mountaineers keep the seventh position with six games lost. Brisbane Spartans will face Phoenix (#4) in Cotton Tree in the next round. Toowoomba Mountaineers will play on the road against Thunder in Loganholme and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
