Very important is a road loss of third ranked Redbacks (9-4) against fourth ranked Lightning (9-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Redbacks were defeated by Lightning in North Lake 84-69. Lightning dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Redbacks' 26. They outrebounded Redbacks 47-29 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. Center Andrew Ferguson (213-98, college: CS Monterey) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized Belgian guard Marshall Nelson (188-94, college: WBU) replied with 27 points and 7 rebounds and guard Joel Wagner (181-87) added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Redbacks. Lightning moved-up to third place in League. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
